i heard shih tzus are hard to train and can be stubborn, i decided on shih poos, because poodles are supposed to be the easiest dogs to train after border collie's, so far they are very smart, and very observant.. they predict every move i make, they are only 7 mths and i haven't spent enough time as i babysit my grandchildren until recently. but they retreive a tennis ball really quick, and can sit, walk on their hind legs, and other things.. so good and quiet, and love to leap into my lap

I taught my girlfriend Neda how to retrieve 64 toys without any mistakes. Hows that
How did you teach him all of this? I have a 2 year old male shitzu.... and he wont even walk on a leash correctly. i know its usually the owners fault. But how did you do all of this?

What I did early on was to teach Uzi to learn. This morning Uzi retrieved 63 toys by name with only 2 mistakes. I am retired and he is my constant companion. I test his memory constantly no matter where we are or what we are doing. I was careful to use single syllable words for his first 25 commands. Patience, repetition, praise, love, and always make it fun. It just takes time.
