I did a survey of 750 companies back in the 1990's, before all this fancy data handling gear we now use. At the time, I requested information on their products, by circling a number on a bingo card. 74% responded with information that spanned weeks to months after the initial request... but more important, only 28% of those companies ever followed up with a phone call. Not-Following-Up is, in my opinion, the number one enemy for any company. And although companies now have tools to measure follow up, they are not teaching how to do a QUALITY follow-up.
