Medina, New York is a historic community born of the Erie Canal. The community is home to world-renown Medina Sandstone, and epitomizes the burgeoning Golden Age of late nineteenth century America. Much of its history has been carefully preserved across the community, most notably in its Downtown Historic Preservation District. Medina boasts a magnificent collection of commercial, ecclesiastical, and residential architecture- much of it in native sandstone- in a thriving, picturesque village on the Erie Canal. This film is a sampling of images from that by-gone golden era as they exist today.
