Yes luck, and something called 'touching the public imagination' for some strange esoteric reason. That can only explain why 'in The Summertime', 'My Ding A Ling', 'Two Little Boys' (and dare I say Bohemian Rhapsody) were such massive hits.

Honeybus, Nirvana (UK), Fairfield Parlour, Consortium..... the list goes on of fantastic bands and music which should have had bigger hits but didn't.
