  • I prefer the original version from Free Fall, too. I like the old-school sound to it, and the middle section absolutely RULES. :)

If I can I'll post a video of me playing it (I play bass). Can't get it 100% right yet, it's damn hard, but not as hard as Ice Cakes. ;P

  • You have heard the old adage that white people have no rhythm? See the Dregs play Ice Cakes or Day 444 live and watch the audience try to keep the rhythm. Absolutely hilarious! No head is bobbing up and down the same way!

  • I like this version better than the original one I think in '77. Its more Rocking and the recording quality is nicer. Still can't believe that morgenstein played for a hair metal band afterwards winger but they actually have some pretty good tunes too.

  • The band that I worked for years ago got to open up for Winger out here in California. They might of been considered a "hair band," but I have to tell you, Reb Beach, the guitarist for Winger is one bad ass guitar player. Not a Steve Morse, (but then again, who is even close to the guitar God!) I wore my High Tension Wires T-Shirt and when Rod saw it, I got the 2 thumbs up! He let me play his drums and then invited me to have dinner with Winger before the show. Just like Steve, Rod is too cool

  • Best vibrato ever at 2:50 ???

  • The Dregs were awesome in there time.

  • @flowdrip That's funny. You'll see the same thing when Bela Fleck and the Fleck Tones play. A bunch of college kids trying their best to groove but just looking so...well, WHITE!

  • many people do not know this, but this song was original written by a band called ivory tower. The dregs and Ivory tower were friends and often shared songs. This was one of them.

  • this is the old intro to WWF Championship Wrestling Back in the 80's Ahhh those were the days.

  • I saw these guys in1979 or 80 in Tucson Arizona in a club called the Night Train. Holy Fecal Matter they were good.

  • Great audio recording! Thanks so much for sharing!
