  • I just wanted to add, also, that the lack of religion does not mean lack of morals or ethics.

In an MSN article I read recently, some very good points were made regarding religion and "niceness" of people. In fact Denmark and Sweden, which are primarily atheist countries, have expansive welfare and health care services, have a strong commitment to social equality, and they murder and rape one another significantly less frequently than Americans do. Just something to think about.

  • Just compare the total populations.............

  • All of Obama's cabinet choices are part of Clinton's mob. Has anyone else noticed this? The reason why Obama is choosing or looking at Clintonoids is because he doesn't know anyone. His lack of experience provided him no knowledge of choices or advisers. He has to resort to people who have Cabinet, or adviser experience of a previous president. He doesn't know anyone! This is the first sign that Obama does not know what he is doing.

  • you hit the nail on the head....

  • In fact, it seems the opposing candidates wouldn't know how to run a government... or more correctly, run the sort of government our country was founded to have.

Then again, I'm sure they'd all have done a better job than Obama seems determined to do.

  • Calling a ten term congressman a nut because you don't agree with his viewpoint is a marginalization tactic.

Paul's position is to run the government the way it was designed - according to its founding document.

I could cop out as you did by just telling you to read more history; instead I'll just say that it's only in this century where it's been normal to ignore any fiscal sanity and rely on the federal government to do everything it's illegal for it to do under our constitution.

  • I am not intolerant whatsoever to religion. I completely support anyone who wants to believe anything they want. Just don't expect me to buy into it.

Please do not say I am intolerant, when I am not. Just because I don't agree with you does not make me intolerant.

And I am not really "liberal." I am independent, and I think for myself. I agree with some Republican ideas, some Democrat, and many that neither party agrees with.

  • O I'm sorry, let me correct myself: No one still knows where this singularity came from. Also, I meant to type universe not galaxy. You still haven't shown me a damn thing that proves for a fact there is no God. I think you are entitled to your beliefs, but the fact that you are intolerant of all other religions and beliefs is simply disgusting. You have proved my point of how you, most liberals, will never change, and that liberals most certainly are intolerant. There, I'm done.

  • Well, I only have a masters, not a PhD or anything. Accordingly, I have to rely on theories people smarter than me have to offer. As for now, it looks like the big bang is winning out. The big bang theory can be effectively proven up until a millionth of a second or so after the big bang.

I acknowledge that religion has been around a long time. Just because an idea has been around a long time doesn;t make it true.

  • There is a myriad of evidence available via simple google searching. I'm tired of going back and forth here. You are set on believing in god; I think the idea is archaic and ridiculous.

FYI-the big bang theory relates to a singularity (infinitely smaller than an atom). And btw, galaxies are clusters of stars within the universe. There are a number of mathmatically-based thories (M, string, others) that offer potential insight on how how our, and likely other, universes "happened." Google it.

  • How about you though, how do you think this whole universe came to be? What do you think happens to you when you die and how the hell do you think people should live their lives? Knowing that they have less than 100 years to live and that they really serve no purpose here on earth other than have their carcass become fertilizer mixed in the ground.

Religion has started everyone's civilized being dating all the way back to the Sumerians! How can you not think or KNOW this?

  • Once again I forgot to say that we are arguing against religions, which no one can win but still.

You honestly expect that everything in the universe happened so perfectly by, coincidence? I don't think so. And stop saying baby Jesus its annoying the crap out of me. Catholicism isn't the only religion, if you didn't know. Also, Jesus wasn't the one who ruled the countries, nor was it the bible. Jesus gave the Christian CHURCH ALONE, it's morals and values he didn't tell people how to rule.

  • What evidence is that? Of course there is evidence to support there is no God, but there is also support to show that there is! True, God might not be as obvious to us as we thought, but there has to have been something that created life! There is evidence against every belief that's why it is a belief! The Big Bang Theory states that an atom exploded to create the galaxy, well where did that atom come from! Do you think everything in the universe happened by chance? How can life start?

  • Religion is a lie because people insist there is a such thing as god, yet there is no concrete evidence whatsoever to support such an idea. It controls people, in part, because it has been the root of power for centuries. It also controls people because they are forced to adhere to what baby jesus says in the bible.

Can anyone prove 100 percent that there is no god? Of course not. But there is sufficient mounting evidence to begin to assert that the idea of god is a little ridiculous.
