The Focus Electric runs exclusively on electricity stored in powerful, state-of-the-art batteries, which means it never needs a drop of gas.
- Powered by a 23 kwh high-voltage, lightweight lithium-ion battery system.
- Regenerative Braking captures energy during braking and recycles it to recharge the battery.
- Charges with the available 240-volt charging station or standard 120-volt convenience cord

  • How fast will the battery drain in cold? Will it last longer than 15seconds?

And how does it like heat? I hope the battery isn't comparable to Nokia's (2-year warranty)! :D

  • @Blitzlevingt sweet! watch?v=eWjlOFK2c3U Better Place Electric Cars

  • wouldn't it be better to have standardized quick fit removable batteries across all vehicle brands that are owned and maintained by existing fuel vendors. That way if your out on the road the batteries are going flat you pull into service station and have the battery swapped in less time it take to fill a tank of petrol. Service station could charge via solar and wind means.

  • @mgibbs88

Fresh air cooled electric motor which is always a good thing, plus it looks better.

  • woaw! so one way to get more energy is to slam ur breaks every time!!! but you'll bald ur tires pretty quickly tho hahha defeats the purpose

  • @gayasianmale Hopefully there will be a better Focus Electric by then! I wanted this car too - was even planning on reserving one, but I currently own a Fusion Hybrid and I'm having a hard time choosing. If I trade in my Fusion Hybrid, I'll only get about $23,000 for it, which is good for a lot of cars, but that means the remaining $8-$10,000 balance comes straight from my pocket. For my wallet's sake, I'm trying not to look at this car as much lol

  • @Hirotoro4692 The grill in the from is just for show. The batteries are inoculated in the rear of the car and have integrated coolers for hot summer days and heaters for cold winter days. No natural air cool necessary.

  • @rovingstar365 You need more than 50 miles every 2-3 hours?

  • I'm on the market for this car, but will wait for couple years. I gotta save up so I can get the down payment and enough financial for this vehicle. I thought about motorcycles, but gas is still expensive here in California, especially San Francisco. This would be very practical.

  • 2-3 hours? that is still a problem......
