From Prehistoric times, when legends tell of great battles between Danes and Swedes, through the centuries to our days of soccermatches and political crisis, the relationship between the two Nordic nations has been a very special one..few nations have engaged in so many wars against each other.
A conflict in 1983, regarding a small island in Danish waters, show that the old grudge in no way has been forgotten!
But still...today we are like a family....bickering and friendship goes hand in hand! :P

note:
from 1537-1814 Norway and Denmark were together in a dual monarchy - therefore many of these confrontations is also a part of Norways's history.
Peter Wessel (Tordenskiold) was one of our greatest heroes - its him at 4:31.
He was born in Norway, but went to copenhagen to join the royal navy.
The picture at 5:21 depicts the Constituent Assembly at Eidsvoll in 1814 - this step toward Norways liberation From Denmark was made in order to prevent Sweden from getting it's hands on Norway - which didn't help...
