you are correct. The AAU is not under the WKF. The USA-NKF is under the WKF.
I'm not sure on this, but I know of three kumite divisions in AAU: shobu ippon, shobu sanbon, and WKF. There may be more kumite divisions...I'm not sure.
But anyway, the WKF kumite division allows AAU fighters to gain experience with WKF rules; however, the judges may not necessarily be experienced in making "WKF-calls".

I'm not sure the AAU is an organization under the WKF. I thought that was the strict realm of the USA-NKF. Can some enlighten me?
