@Sadell They had studied the terrorists every move for 3 months. They knew precisely at what time they were all together playing a mini-soccer match in the living room. They had planted mikes in the house and had a contact inside (a hostage senior navy officer) . They knew precisely when and where to strike. There were no "random explosions". It was all brilliantly planned and carried out, risk was inherent but minimal. Peace.

I am Peruvian, born and raised in Peru and lived there until I was 20. I lived there when this happened and also when the many attacks to civilians by the terrorists happened. Fujimori handled this and got rid of terrorism as well as stabilizing the economy. Without the measures he took, Peru would be NOTHING right now. I know he did wrong things too, but all politicians are corrupt and most of them don't do shit. He instead took care LOTS of huge problems, so we really gotta thank him for that!
