Obesity has long been a major problem for many children across America. And while many look for solutions, the government stands accused of turning a blind eye to a trend that's causing diabetes and heart disease, but spells profit for giant food corporations. RT's Marina Portnaya tasted what's on the menu in U.S. public schools.

  • Tomatoes aren't even vegetables.. YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID!!

  • Why do people alway blame someone else for their problems. Let these companies make the most unhealthy food they want, just dont eat it. If your kid is fat, its because your a bad parent for never putting them on the right track to healthy eating. If your a fat adult, its your fault for being lazy and making bad food choices.

  • Ok everyone have the right to eat whatever he wants, but not to use public healthcare... If one have money to be FAT, must have money to play private health plan too.. The same for drug addicts: must pay private health plan, or DIE!!! FAT is not a decease, it is a CHOICE...

  • ameriKA!! MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD so they say they got more things to worry about then other countries attacking them

  • LMFAO.... dough, cheese and tomato sauce. 3 major food groups, not 1 you fucktards lmfao, add meat you get one more food group

  • @10tenable What country do you live?

  • I am American, I am healthy. I exercise. I fast food very rarely. And I don't eat huge portions. I walk everyday, and I do Tai Chi 3 times a week. I care about my health. ... And NOW with Obama are, I will be forced to pay taxes for healthcare. I have to take money out of my wallet for the healthcare of a bunch of fatasses that could care less about their own health.

  • @conversionvan5000 Maybe a quote from the last REAL POTUS that this country may ever have will help... IF we cannot end now our differences, at least we can make the world safe for diversity. For, in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children's future. And we are all mortal. ~ John Fitzgerald Kennedy

  • @teawead The problem is 100% parents only. My parents made me eat fruit for snacks when i was hungry at night after dinner or put fruit & vegetables in my lunch, they would not let me drink sugar filled pop, they made me eat my veggies everyday, bottom line, they made me eat healthy & now i continue to eat healthy and maintain a healthy weight. You are doing what everone else does, blame gov't for bad & lazy parents.

  • @mfornelos

The comment i made was for government schools, where children are indocrinated from a young age. The problem is not parents only.

  • School lunches are bad. What else is new?

  • @teawead Sorry bud, dont agree with you. Who cares what they declare a vegetable & who cares what the schools sell. It starts at home with parents making proper food choices for their kids, and making them healthy lunches to take to school, not giving them money to buy the fast food crap that schools sell. Again, people who are fat have no one but themselves to blame, stop buying crap food & start eating healthy.
