No offense, but I think the trailer is awesome... To each their own...
LOVE the music, and the scense. I remember when I first saw this trailer (I believe it was when I watched Highlander 2 in the theatres, or perhaps Mortal Combat???) I was hooked, and couldn't wait to see it.
Movie was great, trailer was awesome (great music too, imho).
Oh well, to each their own.

Director's cut DVD is the way to go. They get rid of the whole intro monologue that gives away the whole movie and wasn't supposed to be there in the first place.

Not only does The Matrix owe so much to Dark City in terms of concept, style and storyline, but interestingly it uses the same set pieces. The stairway Murdoch is chased by Baumstead on is the same staircase Neo sees the de'ja vu cat. The phone box at the start is also the phonebox Trinity escapes from the truck.
I like the first Matrix but I know which movie I prefer....
