You get a more friction free cast (negligable) but here's the big kicker.... Line twist. That's why most pinners use a modified wallace, side-spinning (side cast with back-spinning the reel), or other pull-cast styles. The basic side cast (which you are performing with this 'pin-loop') will give you line twist.
