After the debates Remy asked a question to Mike Gravel. I didn't get it on video and don't even remember what the question was, but Gravel's answer pretty much speaks for itself.

  • Geez im out of the loop in politics who is this guy? He has his shit together and why cant I vote for him

  • I hear he's now running under the libertarian ticket, though frankly many of his ideas aren't so libertarian, but whatever. Check his website if you want more information.

  • Oh man, he's carrying that around in his jacket pocket? Wowzers.

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • Gravel is awesome. Though he could be talking about how rain is wet and he'd still sound crazy. Delivery goes a long way.

  • Everything he said was completely right, but he did kind of sound like the crazy homeless guy downtown when he said it.

  • Mike Gravel holds a Masters in Economics, He worked in Counter Intelligence and Declassification for the military during the Korean war. He returned and got work as a taxi driver later he drove to Alaska and worked in real estate and a railway break-man during the off season. He then was elected to congress, later the house elected him to Speaker. Finally he was then appointed to the senate...where he then released the Pentagon Papers, Filibustered the draft...etc. I can't fit this in 500 words!

  • "We" won back congress? How can you tell? "They" won "back" congress... makes no difference to we the people. The wars continue unabated. Our Constitution continues to be degraded. There's not a dime's worth of difference between the Republicrats and the DLC Demoblicans.

  • Looks like the insurance companies and wall street's investment in Obama paid off, big time! Mandatory customers for the insurance companies (punishable by fine and/or imprisonment for not buying their product) and free money for wall street, at the expense of our and our children s financial future. Could a corporation buy a better candidate?

  • I think you could have been elected if you didn't file for bankruptcy ... since if Gravel got the Democratic pick he would have had my vote...

  • I lol'd.

  • george bush was the best

    jk

  • xmattycorex: the founding fathers would be turning over in their graves because we let women, non-whites, and non-property owners vote. And that slavery is illegal.

In other words, fuck the founding fathers.

  • I think you answered your own question mohkou. You asked "Why the hell would banks give Obama money he's a democrat...?" and then your very next sentence ends with "...this time its pretty much certain that dems are gonna win."

Think about that a moment, and respond.

  • Just 80 corporations funded the Republican Convention. The DNC got 61 MORE corporate contributers!!! WTF! How could they accept that dirty money? And here they are talking about how they're the party of the middle class.

  • 141 corporations gave money to the Democrats for the convention. They've given the DNC 159 million since 05, compared to just 99 million for Republicans! That's 60 million more from the "party of the worker." Makes you wonder, doesn't it? It doesn't say "Private executives" giving the money as perhaps liberal Republicans who like Obama's stance on the war and abortion. These are entire corporations donating money to them b/c they think Obama will be pro-business, not pro-worker. It's a sham.

  • Private money, expected to exceed $112 million for the two conventions combined, will pay for an estimated 80% of their cost. As of August 8, 2008, 173 organizational donors -- overwhelmingly corporations but also several trade unions -- had been identified on convention city host committee websites.

Oh yeah. did you also hear about the party at the DNC AT&T held for the Blue Dogs after selling us out on FISA and giving them immunity?

  • ...

    idk
