An experiment: assemble a low cost, low complexity, no exotic ICs, generic, reprogrammable Lithium battery charger.
It will have:
_ 3 phases charge strategy (precharge, constant current, topping charge).
_ temperature monitoring
_ indipendent holding charge phase
_ discharge phase
_ mAh and Wh cell chracterization
Goals (in order of importance):
_ no exotic/dedicated/hard-to-find ICs: use only common, low grade parts
_ low cost, low complexity, easy to maintain
_ reconfigurable
@theturbatus I'll add something soon! I've developed it quite a bit with good results - I've had to take extremely care of contact resistance, at low-medium currents, 500mA, I was getting many false readings.. I'd say it's more inside the coding than the hardware ;)

hi, I think it's a great ideea! do you have a schematic or a project page to find out more about this charger? thank you
