I cannot believe this was filmed right during World War II. Lucille Bremer is fantastic and so is Judy Garland. They are emblematic of MGM musicals.

I remember in elementary school we used to watch this movie in music class every year, but we never got to watch it all. its been a favorite of mine since then nonetheless and never get tired of watching it.
