An extraordinary National-Geographic-type day, November 1, 2007. Arctic Polar bears migrate from summer dens and gather near Churchill, Manitoba to wait for the Hudson Bay to freeze. Then they will travel north via the ice floes to their winter feeding areas and break their 4 month long fast.
We booked a one-day tour from our city with Classic Canadian Tours. This one day, all-inclusive with guide, visit to see the Polar Bears, costs almost as much as I've spent for a week vacation to a warmer beach. For me, the choice was worth the wonderful memories.
