Until recently, most natural gas in Canada came from what are referred to as "conventional" sources -- with the gas trapped under relatively high pressure in relatively loose formations which allowed the gas to move freely to the wellhead for production.

In recent years, however, production of natural gas from conventional sources here in Canada has fallen, despite record levels of drilling and completion. With demand for natural gas continuing to grow, additional sources of natural gas needed to be found and attention has turned, increasingly, to what are deemed "unconventional" sources of natural gas. Natural gas from coal, or coalbed methane, is the natural gas from unconventional sources most widely known. This video serves as a primer about this increasingly important source of natural gas.

  • @BadGasGoodWind ...... NOW >>> IMAGINE THE US INTERSTATE HIGHWAY MAP IS >>>

the locations of solar (PV, transparent, and Termal Farm) and wind turbines (Bladed, cylindrical, and Helix and Grav Lev.)

Which would you rather want? Keep in mind that the south side of every tall building is the equivelent of a city block of solar panels and it's always windy on top of skyscrapers. I'd love to have solar panels over parking lots to shade my car from sun & rain.

  • @imunchbutts : GreenTech is an Economic (R)Evolution. Fossil prices will always rise, GreenTech costs will decrease with increased production and efficiency. All fossils pollute when you get them and when you use them. Carbon Sequestering has no guarantee and it is wicked expensive to do. As for fracking, would you like your ribs shattered? That is what we are doing to the earth. Google US gas, coal & Oil locations: US cities, nuclear powerplant evacuation zones: US Interstate Highway Map ...

  • @coalseamgasnews You must be kidding.

  • @BadGasGoodWind Bull shit. Natural gas is very easy to obtain. For example, the amount of natural gas produced from the Bakken oil field will supply the United States for at least 30 years alone. Even with the GOVERNMENT MANDATED CO2 capture, wind and solar energy is far more expensive. Do you realize how many solar panels would be needed to produce enough power for 1 city for a year? The surface area needed would be bigger than the state of Texas. Wind energy is not much better.

  • @decycle1 YES! If equal amounts of cash that's now spent on fossil fuels "government Subsidies" & R&D were instead spent on green energy, our civilization would be years ahead in regards to a sustainable economy & planet.

A native american saying "think 7 generations ahead for every decision you make, & you will be a rich man." It is past time for every person to demand green energy & a shift away from the politicians & profiteers in the fossil fuels industries who think only of themselves

  • @BadGasGoodWind The sun will give us all the energy we need. The energy comes from 93000000 miles away and is powerful enough to bring life to the whole planet.we just need to focus more on the research than we do fossil exploitation.

  • This is rubbish, natural gas causes more damage to the environment than any other fossil fuel.

  • Natural Gas from coal is irrelevent. Carbon dioxide capture/sequester is so expensive that wind & solar is cheaper.

WE ALL NEED TO STOP USING FOSSIL FUELS NOW! The rest of the world knows this, even China, Iran, Germany & the Saudi's. They are all building wind & solar plants as fast as they can.

Massive public works programs got us out of the depression. America needs a massive green energy program now. Upgrade the grid, re-employ fossil fuel workers in OUR green sector.

  • @b1gr1g how could you miss it? the map clearly showed it located in Russia, jeez, schools these days

  • @b1gr1g dont know
