There's this twisted idea that you "can't" like modern music and old music.. like seriously, what the fuck? I don't listen to Siouxsie or the Beatles or whatever and think "Oh, I'm listening to some great oldie music." Same as I don't listen to deadmau5 or Scooter and think "Oh, the fact that this was made in the 00's has some significance." I just finish a song by those artists and think "Holy shit, that was some epic music I just heard!" :)

"Christine" was actually inspired by a real person who had multiple personalities by the name of Christine Costner-Sizemore.

But what if the shade you mixed looks nothing like what my eyes perceive? The problem with genres is they are subjective, and often arbitrary. For example, I once considered putting Pere Ubu in my electronic section, but then I thought: 'The guitars put it outside that, and the drums are more like jazz, and...' It goes on and on. :)

Genres matter because they keep everything from bleeding into each other making everything one horrid mess of gray.

Yeah, I believe so. But genres don't really matter.. what matters is that it's a brilliant song.
