Lugaru 2 Procedural Animation Demo

This demo shows the upcoming procedural animation system in Lugaru 2. There are no preset animations, everything is done mathematically so no matter what the situation is, it looks smooth.

As nice as the procedural animation is, the final game looks like crap. It advertises things like motion blur (which I haven't seen yet) and facial animation...when the lips have about 4 vertices each. Half-life 1 had better facial animation.

It's nice to focus on physics and animation but you need graphics that look decent by standards higher than those in 1999. Did this dev team not have 1-2 proper artists?

This dosnt look like lugaru 2. Lugaru 2 is actually called Overgrowth

@iSOBigD oh yay another youtube troll, by comparison it looks a helluva lot better than original Lugaru, actually to me it looks kinda close to Overgrowth, if the textures were more realistic, other than that it looks awesome

@100Ultimate Overgrowth isn't even out as far as I can see, the game they had at the time was Lugaru or Lugaru HD which looked like crap with nice physics. Overgrowth finally has a decent engine with actual lighting and shadows, so it's looking better but this is 5 years later now.

@BRBSHUTUPNOOB This is a project David rosen started by himself, but scrapped because of college. Then he got together a team, and now theyre making overgrowth, which was inspired by this....

@iSOBigD Uh... what? Are you talking about lugaru or overgrowth? This is the beginnings of the sequel to Lugaru, and the precursor to overgrowth. Hence Lugaru 2. Now it's become overgrowth, and if you seriously try to tell me the graphics suck, you are on drugs.

@Aioner1997 Dave scrapped this project and got some buddies together who are all now working on Overgrowth, which you can preorder and use the Alphas until it is released. Cheap too. $35 for a very high quality alpha set, which will eventually a very high quality game for kickin ass.
