    What Bill is talking about is the "Stoned Ape" theory, developed by Terence McKenna. He suggested that our ancestors, pre-intelligent apes, found magic mushrooms on cow shit when the forest where we lived started to recede, and we moved out onto the flat grassland. He went on to assert that magic mushrooms were likely the key to unlocking greater strains of thought, which back then meant, for example, that we see ants and bugs crawling on sticks, why not bait them with sticks to get food?

    Bill Hicks grew up a Southern Babtist... If you know anything about it you will know that it is a very stricked portion of Christianty, he moved to LA when he got out of highschool and tried magic mushrooms shortly after. He said it made him more open minded, he belives that god is conciousniss and that we are all god do to this!
