You don't see this shrug variation done too often at most gyms. Give it a try...just don't sacrifice your form by going too heavy on this one.

I used 45lb plates and felt more in the middle of my back and stabilizer muscles than my traps.

Tried this yesterday. Didn't feel anything. Might need to use more weight.

They're called Hise shrugs. I did them for a while but stopped after I pinched a nerve in my left trap.
