    This secret spot is only refered to as "The Grumper!"

    But there are plenty of good mussel spots along the California coast. Just keep in mind that due to a build up of natural domoic acid in bivalves due to toxic plankton (has occured for thousands of years), they will make you sick or even kill you if eaten in the wrong months (see CAL DFG for details). Also remember you need a valid California fishing license if you with to take anything from the sea.
