  • To me this is 1 of the more interesting failicies of christianity. Here you got God saying " I am giving you this GREAT gift of FREEWILL my children, be FREE in yore thoughts and purpose! But if you EXERCISE that FREEWILL in any shape or form DISPLEASING to me! I WILL cast you into a lake of fire or the lowest depths of HELL to burn for an ETERNITY !" See to TRULY thinking MINDS that just does NOT work! WHY would anyone give you FREEWILL if they only wanted you to strictly follow THEIR will??

  • It seems by what you are saying that you want free will without consequences. God let's us thumb our noses at him if we want, and gives us every chance to change our stance throughout our lives. But He also honors our decisions. If we want a life that is separate from God and want nothing to do with Him, he will give us what we want. WE are the ones who choose to walk away from Him, not the other way around.

  • When you said most people don't want to be christians cause there's too many rules, to many things to follow, having to be good. Fighting the flesh! etc.. I see this in the contrast as saying Christians ONLY are christian cause they are SO scared of going to HELL! and that's why their christian. I think there would be more than 1 christian, who would beg to differ with you on that point! So keep in mind there are 10,000 or more different reasons NOT to become christian. You ONLY named 3 or 4!!!

  • I'm sorry if I in any way gave the impression that Christians are somehow scared into being Christian to solely stay clear of hell. I would say most Christians do not fall into that camp. Those who have had their hearts touched by God want to know him better and try to glorify him. ANd I agree, there are so many reasons to not follow Christ, the world sells us every excuse we could want to deny Him.

  • I don't think you've thought this through. What you're talking about isn't free will, but blackmail.

If a man holds a knife to a woman's throat and says he will kill her if she doesn't have sex with him, would you say she is exercising her free will by giving in to his demand? Similarly, if God says, "Worship me or go to Hell" that is not free will.

If Hell exists (which, thank God, it doesn't), God made it. If God made it, the fact that we can go there is His choice.

  • Its not that Wicca/Paganism wants us to go "full out". Wiccans take responsibility for our actions, we do not blame our actions on an external force such as Satan. The Wiccan Rede may seem like an easy tenet to follow at first glance but in reality and upon deep reflection it is no where near as simple as it seems.

  • I'm curious - does she take or know philosophy? Clearly she does not believe in the Correspondence theory and favors the Pragmatic.

  • @Rainy64 Thanks for the reply. From yore reply I can gather that you are secure in yore beliefs. ( and that's a good thing !) After re-reading my comments, I guess the point I should have been making is that not everyone is going to agree (even other christians) and that non-christians such as me-self wish most of you would practice the dogma you preach when we use our freewill to express a view different from you & yore gods' view of how the Universe of Things work.

  • How often have the monotheistic faiths fallen short of the Rede in their actions? From Moses' slaughter of the Midianites on down the history of monotheism has been written in blood. Almost all of it was shed because people were absolutely sure they had THE RIGHT ANSWER. Given the pile of corpses that lie at the base of absolute truth maybe its a good thing to have a faith that really has no use for the concept and instead keeps its moralizing to a bare minimum.

  • @hybeerian There are millions of reasons to follow Jesus! The threat of Hell is just a Tiny" piece. The love, the knowing you are heading in a loving direction....there is so much Jesus Christ offers. You don't have to worry about hurting another- believe in Him- he takes it. You won't get it. (Bad Karma ,etc) But that gift comes with belief in Him

  • @QuestionChrist WE choose things everyday- we chose to walk away.... that's more loving. You're not forced to follow- I agree w/QuestionionChrist.

  • @hybeerian Not true--read more.......

  • u whont understand life i u dont strugle

  • This guy makes total sense. From a human standpoint, we do need rules and regulations to govern our lives. Just like there are laws of the land, there are laws in humanity and how we are to treat our fellow human beings.

  • @iloveaustrailiawomen isnt satan basically telling people he doesnt exist? so therefore, he can fool twice as many.

  • @iloveaustrailiawomen is that a vaccume running in the Background???
