I am so glad the MLB is sponsoring this...time for us Yanks to bring Baseball fever back to Australia. I hope it works out for you guys, it sounds really exiting. I'd love to go watch a baseball game in Australia one day, just like I do over here.

@hamish999 I think average salary is about $400/month but this will grow with the profile in Aus. This is only an average estimate as juniors may play for free (looks good on the resume) and big-leaguers from the US will be paid closer to what they're worth. 10/11 is looking at 40 games over three months + play-offs. The fact MLB is pushing keenly after a trial year (09/10 Claxton) is a good sign.

I really hope it works, but I think it is very simular to seeting up a pro cricket league in the US...What kind of salaries will players be on?How many games per season ect?
