@Ironman79 it totally makes sense that members of the native tongues wrote most of the material off of this album. thanks for that demo post! Overall it was much more of a "mature" sounding album in terms of lyrics & production (thanks to the beatnuts) than you'd expect from a typical kid. I was a freshman in college when this came out and it was a fantastic album then...some of this material has held up remarkably well due to the classic beatnuts production, most notably "let the horns blow"

back then u would have bumpd this if i knew it was out. i was born in '79. i think its funny how they doggd KrissKross. they were too explicit for they age in a group called Illegal. i heard that diss song like a month ago. obviously im late but it still was funny. a lil bit of fame is better than nothing. i heard he died

i uploaded Trugoy's demo version on my page if you wanna check it out. The quality sucks but that's all i could find. I'm still searching for a better quality version if it exists

That's interesting info. I read an interview with Chi-Ali from jail where he said the Native Tongues Family wrote 60% of the album. Is the the chorus sampled from Dave's demo? Where can I hear it?

Didn't Dave (Trugoy at the time) write the song for Chi Ali? I got a demo version of him rapping the whole song like he was trying to teach Chi how to deliver the rap. You can kinda tell that this song is more complex than the rest of the album
