To see harvested yeast go to making a starter, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snMfroXPy_M

  • can you explain the starter... I assume you take out the yeast and get to room temp, then use some DME? Thanx... Great video

  • @Firebat138 check out my video on making a starter

  • At least 6 months, probably longer. Just be sure to make a solid starter since viability will decrease over time.

  • Boiling sanitizes, not sterilizes. You have to have a pressure cooker to sterilize. Have you thought about filling your jars with media and then boiling, with the stir bar in the container? its more of a one shot rather than doing the same essential thing multiple times on multiple objects

  • Nice job, but you gonna splode yo self.

  • How many generations do you let your yeast go before you start over?

  • How long do the jars last?

  • Real nice job and video. I had heard that the boiled water has less oxygen besides being sterile. I added too much water when I did mine so there was some left over too. I poured off some of the very top liquid that also seperated some. b25emt is very correct, this guy is a tong-master!

  • Nice video! I'm going to be harvesting yeast soon, and this video is DEFINITELY going to be a big help
