"Nude Descending a Staircase" by X J Kennedy (poetry reading)

The photographs are part of a series by Eadweard Muybridge in about 1890 which are said to have inspired the 1912 painting called "Nude Descending a Staircase" by Marcel Duchamp (1887 - 1968). It caused outrage in the artworld.

To see it properly oriented, halt on the last image and lay your head on your left shoulder because it's rotated 90 degrees to the left.

I have this poem+painting as my feature vid..basically because it's one of my favourite pieces of art+also I really like the poem..BUT are you are aware you have the painting horizontal+not vetical...the nude is actually lying down in this representation..LOL.so the whole point of the painting has been lost !!!

Seriously ! I've only just fully notivced..because I'm blind as a bat+have just piy my glasses on..,,Oooops..thanks pixie ;))

this is one of my fav pieces of Futurist art...we did a tribute ourselves at art college to Duchamps technique..called a continual movement painting,our model moved continually in front of us,never more than a 2 sec turn or stop...continual moving image..prob the most successful drawing I've done..I love this stuff..nice vid 5* !
