I just finished a stint at the 71st Canadian Toy and Hobby Fair. It went well and I have a good amount of retailers and distributors interested in my products. Buyers of every ethnicity, minus one, came to chat with me, take interest in my products or at least said "hi" when I said "hello". Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the handful of Black business owners there. I was completely ignored and received 'screw face' from other Black business owners. I had to rant about how stupid and counterproductive this is.

  • Stop being racist... we are all the same! Stop making the distinction. You talk about getting black people to buy from black people.. What if white people were to to try to encourage white people to buy specifically from other white people and not other races? Would that be racist? So how is it not racist where you talk about "enpowerment". You talk about "community" as in black people... but community is all races. "My own people" .. please... we are all brothers. Good luck with your business.

  • @cvsouth If you want to know what is "racist", read the comment by thelegendofnoob below. It would be great if the world was equal and full of brotherhood. World peace and accepting each other based on humanity is unfortunately not a human trait.

The reality is white people, Asians, Jewish and so on do not purposely ignore each other in the business arena. Black poverty and isolation is a reality and if we continue to ignore each other purposely, nothing will improve. That is my point

  • This just shows the hypocrisy of our race. We all talk about there should be more black businesses out there, but then when you do see that, they're still whining & complaining, only now it's because these black business owners have earned it & are making $ from. That & they really hate it when non-blacks are working w/ them. We say they want unity, but beat & kill 1 another. Lies & hypocrisy. Blacks just don't plain know what they want.
