@CreateYourHealth Hmm. I wonder if you'd consider posting a video of your experiment. This guy did (search "Testing Ear Candles Hoax or Reality") and he obviously got a different result. It might satisfy the skeptics if you posted your results!

@803badmutha Yup! Nothing in the cone when burned on it's own...lots of gunk when I had it in my ear. I've been really congested lately so that's probably why...

@CreateYourHealth Try my experiment then! I'm not trying to be condescending or rude. You seem like a fair and genuinely nice guy. Try the experiment, and you'll see that anecdotal evidence of "it feels good" isn't enough. The suction pressures necessary to pull wax out of your ears would also rupture your eardrums, and can't be created by a shop vac, let alone a candle. Give it a shot, and maybe you'll start to objectively question chiropractors and acupuncturists too.

@803badmutha Ah, well, thanks for your input. It's good to realize that chiropractors were jailed for being "quacks" just 30 years ago and acupuncture was considered "crazy talk". Ear coning has been considered a legitimate form of healing for hundreds of years and from experience I know it works. The difference is remarkable. I certainly appreciate your tuning in though. Hopefully you'll find something that you like and that works for you!

I'd be willing to bet that you'd find the same gunk on the interior of one of those candles after burning whether there was an ear on the other end or not... Looks like Peter needs to visit Quackwatch(dot)com and be enlightened by the magic of science.
