As for the method: wrap banana leaves around a paper towel tube, secure one end with a toothpick, and fill with cooked rice. Steam for about 2 hours. Serve room temperature or chilled.

  • I believe the rice should be half way done, that way the gluten in the rice will sort of mold all the rice grains together, and then steam.
