The Omaha Lighting GLB Football Team - 2008

The Omaha Lightning where established in 2008. The Lightning were born from the mind of TEAM OWNER, Jason/Serge V in the Expansion draft for Goal Line Blitz for the second full season. He is the person in charge of a fantasy football team, a Jerry Jones type owner, making all the moves drafting, trading, dropping, setting lineups, etc. His knowledgeable staff of General Managers are there to assist him in making the Omaha Lightning, one of the elite teams in the Goal Line Blitz World. The right hand man to Jason/Serge V is Matt/Moneyman. He is very "in tune" with the needs of the team and players. His almost "Rain Man" like knowledge of the in and outs of GLB are unmatched. He has become an asset to the Lightning and it's growth over the past two seasons.

Omaha started off slowly, building the solid base that it has today, one player at a time. So wins did not come as fast as the losses did the first two and a half seasons. The "turn" came late in Season 3, when the team started to gel, the planets aligned and the wins starting outweighing the losses. Then came Season 4, which can be referred to as the "re-birth of a perineal powerhouse." It start a bit different, dropping the first four games, starting the season 1-4, before the run began. Wins were raining down quicker against the other teams in the Western Conference of USA BBB #11. They were finally taking notice of the Lightning, forum posters were jumping on the Omaha bandwagon picking them for wins against teams that were not kind to the Lightning in it's early seasons of development. The momentum carried the Lightning into the playoffs, where they were considered to fight for the title. Round one went to the Lightning, then came the "Re-Match" against the Bakersfield Nanananas, it came down to a last minute play that propelled Bakersfield to the Conference Championship and the Lightning back home, not dejected, not upset (well, maybe a little), but proud of the accomplishment, the historic team winning streak and of the wonderful support of the team players and the ownership. Season Five, regular season has been completed with your beloved Omaha Lightning coming in a strong 3rd and crushing the Corpus Christi Aliens in the first round(See Playoff Section). Now after the Lightning defeated their arch rivals, The Bakersfield Nanananas and moved on to the Conference Championship, where they ended the incredible playoff run that the Oklahoma City Twisters were on! Now, Your Western Conference Champions, the Omaha Lightning, are for a fight against the Eastern Conference Champions, the Brooklyn Bomb Squad in the 5th Annual USA BBB #11 Championship! Here's hoping your Lightning can bring the trophy home to Omaha!
