Geoff Bagnall hit the BRL scene for the Devils as a raw 17-year-old in the second half of the 1984 season under coach Barry Muir. He strugged a tad late in 1985 before regaining his mojo in the No.7 jersey for Norths in the 86 and 87 seasons. He went on to play for the Gold Coast Giants/Seagulls in the NSWRL and Wakefield Trinity in England. The diminutive Bagnall had a couple of competitive match-ups with Allan Langer during his BRL days and was third in line behind Laurie Spina and 'Alfie' for the vacant No. 7 QLD Origin jersey in 1987.

Here, he is interviewed by the ABC's Arthur Denovan prior to a Lang Park outing with Souths in 1985. He also has a yarn with Peter Meares at the Rothmans Medal.
