To mark our 2000th subscriber milestone, We present to you our first ever European submission.

Squall has a butchers at the bizarre re-branding of certain games when released in Europe, wile some were for legal or copyright reasons, others were just plain odd!

  • I quit playing console games because I am mad at them for watering it down and overcharging for the cartridge games. 

  • its called genisis in Europe? I thought it was the other way around. mine is called a genisis.

  • @OmagaMinion No, it's called the Mega Drive everywhere except the US and Canada.

  • I've read in American gaming magazines that Sega went with Genesis for the Mega Drive in the U.S. to appeal to the bible belt, and to Star Trek fans. But so much info on such matters conflict with each other, who knows?

  • @cessnaace I heard they changed the name as another product was copyrighted as the Mega Drive in the US and Canada.

  • @bean420man Thats because Censoring games has nothing to do with violence or killings death or destruction. Those things have been around long before video games or computer technology.

  • Lylat Wars is the original japanese name whilst Starfox is the american name whilst Starwing is the european name.
