That's also because the fuel is moved to the back of the tank by the kinetic forces caused by the acceleration.
The sensor is usually located in the front of the tank which means it gives false readings during fast driving / acceleration.
I am lucky enough to have a neighbour that has a CL65 AMG and he lets me drive it once in a while.
When I hammer the accelerator in it, the fuel just drops soo fast, it's unbelievable, but then when you let go, the fuel level rises again.
