Stunning work. I love how very alive Glen makes him look. The eyes are the best part. I have got to work on how I draw eyes...those are wonderful (windows to the soul of the Beast yes? :)

@msneverquit So if one wishes to get into Calarts, they just have to be able to do semi-detailed sketches? I'm confused... :|
-
I hope I get as good at that... Glen Keane is truely my inspiration on what I want to be.
-
@msneverquit thank you! because I can't be in a single drawing for more than10 minutes! I have to skip to another drawing and try different poses... All my friends tell me they'd like to see a finished version of a drawing of mine...

two minutes to create the Beast, while I'll take a life time - a true master at work

Wow, I felt like I was getting a private lesson from one of Disney's greatest animators. So much passion into drawing. I hope to work at Disney some day and I hope to learn from Glen Keane. If not, Andreas Deja or Eric Goldberg are awesome too.

@msneverquit ?? where are you now and what do you do ?

GLEN KEANE IS A GENIUS!
DRAW KIDS DRAW! That's the key skill. CalArts doesn't care about finished stuff, just your sketchbooks will do. I was there in '69 and '75 and the portfolio review was about ideas and sketches, they didn't care about the 'finished' work I had. Surprise!

Look at his pencil lines...the familiar animator's pencil stroke! Glen Keane is AMAZING.
