On June 12, 2007, Lilly Ledbetter, the plaintiff in a workplace discrimination lawsuit decided by the U.S. Supreme Court on May 29, testified about her case before the House Education and Labor Committee. Ledbetter sued Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after learning that she was the lowest-paid supervisor out of a group of 16 supervisors at the facility, despite having more experience than several of her male counterparts. In a sharply divided 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled against Ledbetter. The Education and Labor Committee is considering legislation, to be introduced by Chairman George Miller, to reverse the Supreme Court's decision by making clear workers' rights under federal employment discrimination law.

This woman is a thug idiot, if your marginal revenue product is higher than you are paid for then voluntarily ask for a raise or quit. Do not be a coercive thug idiot. Anyone like that thug that acts like a criminal should be charged as such.

Panman59, your funny. I have lived in both cities, and in rural, country areas. The country folks do NOT reward hard work, nor ambition, it only rewards the good'ole boys, their sports teammates, their hunting partners, or fellow church members, has NOTHING to do with hard work. If your not a "good 'ole boy, you have no chance, no matter how hard you work! Especially if your female and don't go along w/it. I have never seen so much sexism, favoritism, nepotism, until I moved to the country!

This case was about same job, same responsibilites equals same pay.
The Chinese government is very strong militarily but not in enforcing safety and health inspections. Different priorities.
To blame the bank problems on home loans to people who couldn't afford them, is to ignore all the bad loans given to investors for 2nd, 3rd and 4th properties while they gambled house prices would go up indefinitely. Banks have a responsibility to their investors to not carelessly risk their money.

Why do you post a comment if you can't be bothered to read a news article on this subject to get the facts?

Finally, with the wonderful job the government did with Social Security, the wonderful Highway system we have, the great handling of Waco, the great accomplishments the government has made in stopping drug flow and illegal immigration, that really makes me want to give even more control and laws to enforce When the government is the most efficient entity in the US and the citizens become self-reliant and take responsibility for their own actions There will be no need for BIG Government and laws

Sophiemarie49 to continue If Ledbetter was personally not happy with pay, she should have quit. People who lost their homes should not have agreed to adjustable rate loans, and should have not bought more than they could afford. Lost your retirement in the stockmarket? No. 1 rule is NOT to have all eggs in one basket!! When the goverment finally has total control, who will oversee the goverment?? And who will pay for it? The taxpayers
