A meeting held with Dean of Student Services and the President of Berkeley City College. This was filmed in Late November. Now most of the problems with financial aid are due to the decisions of the Perlata board, I place 20% of the blame on this school.
On Dec 10, 2008 I finally received all of my financial aid, being told on the 7th that is was not there and the date on the check was the 3rd. I have learned that many students still have not.
Cheers, Noel. How are you doing, David? Kudos on your acceptance to CSU. Ivan, how are your spices selling?

VP Poon has 0 in common with typical BCC financial aid recipients: he attended St. Mary's College and USC which are both very expensive private colleges. There is no way he could have fully funded his education at either institution using only federal student aid sources.
His comment that the federal margin of error for financial aid is plus or minus $1.00 is B.S. He needs to review the Federal Verification Guides.

VP Poon was VP of Student Services at American River College when that inst. was fined $3,024,665 by the Dept of Ed. in 2004 for disb. fin aid to student not enrolled as regular students. No student may receive fed aid who is not enrolled as a reg. student in an eligible program.
You would think that after costing ARC over $ 3 mill. VP Poon would make this requirement #1 on his list. PCCD sure made a wise choice placing him as overseer of BCC's FAO operations.
