@SleepingAncient Pathfinder and C&C have drastically different playstyles, and gamers are notorious for playing more than one game, so I completely disagree. Pathfinder can't do shit in comparison to C&C for old school roleplaying, and C&C can't do shit in comparison to Pathfinder for heavy sim roleplaying. And because I dislike heavy sim roleplaying, Pathfinder has nothing to offer me. Pathfinder can't even compete with C&C for my dollar, because it's aiming at an entirely different gamer.

The reason why you choose rpg A or B does not change the fact that it is competition. Just because as you have said in your opinion, that A is better than B does not change the fact that both games are out there for you to buy. You might buy one over the other or you might even buy both. Either way there is more than one game out there so that is competition.

Pathfinder doesn't compete with C&C. False comparison. Also you should really compare the CKG to the AD&D1E DMG as they are in the same vein.
I think the Pathfinder Gamemastery Guide was the worst DM resource I've ever had the misfortune to lay my eyes upon. Merchandise shilling and rule mastery-bation were it's key features. Any GM book that doesn't regard DIY/houserules as an intrinsic and ultimately good concept of D&D isn't a GM book worth owning, IMHO.

@azirk83 Anyone that makes a fantasy role playing game IS competing with another fantasy role playing game. Sorry just a fact. Any time I have the choice between playing game A or B then it's competition.
