ENGLISH VERSION. Concert for brazilwood/ pernambuco wood. Sepultura and Orquestra Experimental de Repertório with Maestro Jamil Maluf. InterFace Filmes at Virada Cultural 2011. Since the mid 1700's brazilwood (also known as pernambuco wood) has been vital in the manufacture of fine violins bows and other stringed instruments. Threatened with extinction, the lack of brazilwood will cause devastating effect in music.
Inspired in the documentary and book "The Music Tree" by InterFace Filmes, the concert for brazilwood will take place in São Paulo during the Virada Cultural 2011. 1000 brazilwood trees will be replanted by the Instituto Verde Brasil on behalf of the concert. Orchestration by Alexey Kurkdjian.
