  • such a great poem.. but so badly ruined ugh

  • @TheMandyPinetown - those who personally knew Bukowski, including his widow, loved the performance given by the actor. Although Buk didn't see this particular performance, he did see performances staged by Joanne Gordon in a similar fashion, and like it so much, he gave her free use of his material.

  • Why didn't he give any more interviews after that?

  • @freethinkerdangerous - it wasn't that he didn't give anymore interviews, he didn't do anymore live readings - because he really hated doing them. He only did them for the money, and just after the Redondo reading, his income from book sales and movie rights paid the bill - allowing him to work without having to perform.

  • You guys are so damn critical. Let me tell you, Buk personally approved the work of Joanne Gordon before he died. He told her if he liked it, she could use his stuff for free, but if he didn't like it she couldn't use it at all. She rented a hall, hired actors, rehearsed, and then came the big night that Linda and Hank came to see it. His quote, "It's good. It's fucking good - let's go get some beer.

Linda not only asked me to tape the play, but gave permission to include it in the DVD extras.

  • Jesus Christ that guy butchered it. If you say Buk enjoyed it,it wasn't the performance,it was the adulation. Buk isn't an idiot, but he's human, and likes an ego stroke as much as anyone.I've read everything 20 times over, and watched everything 20 times over. I have an un healthy obsession with this man,and love him deeply.

  • What a shittty rendition in the end by that douche. No idea whatsoever.

  • I had no idea that Charles Bukowski had a reading in Canada!.

  • what is this stupid fucking music? this isn't the trailer to home alone.

  • MARK PIATELLI FUCKING DOUCHE

  • that actor is horrific
