Station Fire Grand Compilation Time Lapse 720p HD

Dedicated to all those who have been impacted by this blaze..

This is a collection of time lapse footage, shot during the La Canada "Station" forest fire in the San Gabriel Mountains of southern California, August 28th through September 3rd, 2009. A huge chunk of old-growth mountain ecosystem was burned, houses destroyed, and lives lost during this event.

These images were filmed from Santa Clarita, California, which is about 15-25 miles west of the fire. Equipment used: Canon SX10-is digital still camera and HF100 HD camcorder.

It's odd how posts sometimes seem to go into space... You must have quite an experience where you were... The plumes were spectacular from here (as you can see) but the smoke never came over this area, so I consider us lucky in that respect! Thanks for stopping by =)
