@mauler19 - The Darkness was a great band. Very talented performers. The thing is, a lot of the elements of the the persona they presented are undeniably borrowed from '70's rock. Their album cover is very much in the style of what we saw from Boston, Styx, Queen, etc. The hair, the clothing, the harmonized guitar solos (Boston), etc. I enjoyed that they didn't take themselves too seriously, but musicians need to progress using influences, not revert back to the formula from 35 years ago.

why do people seem to be under this illusion that the darkness are/were copying queen and other rock legends? they are their own band wit their own sound and style, and in my opinion the only recent band to truly revive rock music. i love the band members individual looks, it is so much better than the uniformed Gothic/emo sh!t nowadays! i hope they do a reunion tour. they may be gone but they will always be remembered!
