SWEET PEA is available for adoption through Friends of Homeless Animals, www.foha.org -- (703) 385-0224. Hi! I'm adorable little SWEET PEA!! Do you know the story of the princess and the pea? Now, most people recall that some complaining princess slept on multiple mattresses and there was a pea in between two of the mattresses, but the rest of the story goes a little foggy, right? Well, let me give you some of the back story as to WHY that princess came to sleep on those mattresses and, by default, that pea. You see, there was a prince who was looking for a suitable partner, but none of the supposed princesses he met seemed to measure up. Then one stormy night, a gal appeared at the castle, asking for respite from the storm and indicating that she was a princess. Now, in the story, its thought that only a true princess would be sensitive enough to be able to feel the pea between all those feather beds. A bit of a reach, if you ask me, but nonetheless, the princess declared that something hard in between the mattresses kept her from sleeping, the prince declared his love, and apparently they all lived happily ever after. Now, why do I tell this story? Well, my name is Sweet Peabut I want to be painfully clear to my potential family that while I like fluffy cat beds as much as the next kitty, I DO NOT want to have to sleep on a pea. If I have to sleep on a pea, I may become less than sweet. And if I cannot sit on a lap when I want one, I may become a little diva princess of my own. I like comfy cat beds and I like laps. Well, if you dont state up front what youre looking for, you cant blame your new family for not knowing. So those are requirements for my adoptive family, ok? If you make me sleep on a pea, your prince will be waiting for quite a while for the perfect princess.and might just get a hiss instead of a kiss. So, fluffy bed with no peas, occasional lap-sitting sessions. Those are my base requirements? Get it? Got it? Good! Now lets go home!
