In 1997, National Projects visited with senior members of a number of Minnesota communities. Many of those interviewed were nearing, or had already become centenarians, placing them in the unique position of having witnessed the entire century before them. It is these visits, and the rare perspective of those involved that formed the basis for the 16mm motion picture documentary, In Our Time.
In Our Time premiered at the Mt. Olivet-Careview Senior Center in Minneapolis, MN and went on to be screened at the Walker Art Center's Midwest Film and Video Festival and the La Vista Cinema Club.
National Projects encourages those who are able, to contact the fascinating and vital, elder members of their own communities. The activity director or volunteer coordinator of your local nursing home should be able to facilitate your efforts.
