World War 1. "I vow to thee my country"

The last British survivor of the Great War trenches has sadly passed away,causing the actions and events of the war to slip into history. here is the Rifles Living History Society's tribute to the generation of lived through the Great War 1914-18.

Soldiers fight for freedom, politicians give it away after. These men died for nothing by todays standards. The fact we're in the EU is a testiment to that. My great grandad and grandad fought in both wars, and my grandad is especially upset about where this country is going in the future, i.e. straight down the shithole.
