Dedicated to Keaton:

I got this new toy about a week ago and it is awesome! It really screams and shrieks, just like a good fuzz face should. I bought it off of eBay for like $35. It has a BYOC or General Guitar Gadgets look to it, definitely home made by some sweet guy who knows where. It has a volume and a fuzz knob. I set the fuzz to about 3/4 full on. I put a Seymour Duncan pickup booster in front of it and it really makes this baby sizzle.

I looped a 12 bar blues rhythm patter into my Boss RC-2 loop pedal and went from there. My guitar is an old Fender MIM stratocaster that has been heavily modified. I put a Gibson 490 humbucker in the bridge and a Texas special in the neck. The amp is a Fender Blues Junior. It is set up like this:

volume: 9
mid boost: on
treble: 6
bass: 8
mid: 7
master: 3
reverb: 1

  • I'd appreciate if you all would comment on some of my more recent videos. This was about 2 years ago, and by no means was this my best guitar jam - but this was where I was at at that time. If you are interested in giving an honest critique I'd love to hear it, however please do so based off one of my newer videos. Thanks for your understanding.

  • Do you know what phrasing is??? If not learn it. You sound like me a few months ago. You are a few bars ahead of your rhythm. also look up "Gr8bluesguitar" for some lessons on blues improv.

  • I am a big fan of Mr. Stauffer's lessons. I learned the bedrock of anything I play from his lessons. I have definitely had phrasing on my mind, and I watched his lesson on phrasing many times. I am aware that I have a long ways to go. If I may quote him: "phrasing is something that can take years before you even start thinking about it." Thanks for the help though, much appreciated.

  • Sounds like a Velvet Underground solo. Your not bad man, just try to cover some blues guitar solo's. Albert King, Buddy Guy or something. Your on your way.

  • pentatonic whore

  • Dude, besides your funny face(s), there's nothing left to watch/hear in you video, I'm sorry... You're out of tune, maybe you should tune your guitar before posting it here on YouTube. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make fun of you, just watch you own video and if you don't realize you're out of tune... then you've got a problem :D

Cheers, best luck with your playing! This one is one hell of a pedal.

  • I think your out of key or not in tune with the with the music. You will get it keep trying never stop just practice till you drop!! Have fun thats what counts.

  • Don't post until you've taken lesson's and practiced hard for several years.

  • @kleydj13 anyways, to wrap it up, take things a little slower. make your music have more space, and vary your dynamics. listen to the rythym section and get a feel for the beat. dont hold bends too long either. well thats my advice.

  • @kleydj13 in your solos you should take more breaks, dont have a steady flow of notes. just take a measure or half a measure off and just get a feel for the beat. when improvising you dont have to be hitting a bunch of notes all the time. a fun thing to do in blues sometimes it to play syncopations. another thing i found out is a harmonic minor can sound cool too.

  • @leavittobeaver i watched your video and youre good but you gotta give the music a little more space and you gotta vary the dynamics a bit more then ittl be great.
