In any case Martin copied the style from Thom Yorke, Coldplay sounds like Radiohead in the bends, but Radiohead grew. I like Watson, he got a very particular style, but you can hear his influences of course.

You can say he sounds like Chris Martin who in his own has a wonderful voice, or Buckley who to owns this trait. But instead of citing the similarities, we should be acknowledging his talent of implementing his influences into his music while still maintaining his originality.

No he is waaaaay past chris martin, i love coldplay but there songs are kind of souding the same now but patrick has his own style that is amazing. now im not trying to start an argument but he is way better the christ martin

Any way you want to compare their voices or music, Patrick Watson is still fifty times cooler that Chris Martin. :D

I can see how people see chris martin in patrick Watson.

But what seperates coldplay from watson is that watson takes alot of chances with his music. Coldplay seems content on being safe.

Being safe is fine from a mainstream point of view but it can get boring pretty quick.

maybe a little coldplay but far more creative. with a hint of portishead.
