Security, is one of the key issues for Israel in the upcoming peace talks.
Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister has already said Israel's security demands will come first before any discussions on borders and final status issues.
Among Israel's security concerns is the Jordan valley. This is an area that was occupied in 1967 and is meant to be part of a future Palestinian state.
Israel, however, wants to maintain a military presence in the Jordan Valley to make sure it remains a buffer zone protecting Israel from any external threat.
It insists that any future Palestinian state must be 'demilitarized' which raises the question for whom will the Palestinian state be providing security Palestinians or Israelis?
Al Jazeera's Nisreen El-Shamayleh reports from the West Bank.
What must be fought is not only the possession of [strategic] land, but also the very concept of a separatist Arab "Palestinian" nationalist claim. So long as the propaganda sells the public into the idea that a PLO state would be in any form a step towards peace, the threat to security will continue to exist. Once the concept is erased completely, we can talk about a real, humane solution for the issue of the Arab population strained in the territories Israel liberated from Transjordan in 1967

All the water directly under the Jewish terrorist colonies is the REAL reason for the illegal colonies. Also all the farmlands. Israelis don't want another country competing with them in agriculture or industry. If in doubt, look at the trade agreements Israel already has with Egypt and Jordan. Those countries MUST import Israeli goods even tho they don't need them, so that the US will send those governments Billions in "aid" every year...
