  • Yes, they were real and were really fired. Just that those who viewed on TV see on the computer-generated ones. Those on BJ streets would see the real one at the same time, cos' it would be dangersous to shoot on helicopter.

  • big footprints are real!

see all

  • @loflora So why did they admit to them being CGI then? It was only the ones above the stdium that were real. The lead up to the stadium were all CGI. They said so themselves. And it's nonsense to say it's too dangerous to shoot from an helicopter because it's done all the time on NYE.

  • they think its fake cuz they think its impossible! everything is possible in China!!!

  • I think many people got the wrong impression from CNN, BBC and biased western-media that the foot print fireworks is fake. See this documentary realise that Chinese people is really hard-working in making thing works. Keep it up China!! The whole world know you're a GREAT NATION!!!

Those haters can continue to HATE!!! The more you HATE, the more Chinese is going to be POWERFUL.

  • what you just said is the most common mis-conception about China...Let me tell you something, American media is not run by the gov. but by private corporations who mis-represent the truth also. And today's china doesn't arrest people just because they report something bad about the gov.

  • china is not a free country. if you criticize the chinese dictatorship, you will get arrested. and chinese media (all employed by the gov't) will not report this. only chance you have is to contact foreign media to plea your case. if an american journalist does a story on you, you might set free. if not, its to a labor camp for 20 to 30 years.

  • I feel like I was lied to by the "free world" media. All of our news reporters led us to believe that China is this deceiving country. Who made the video footage that we saw at home? Did China hand over a tape and forced the American "free" media to play a tape with the fake footprints. I think not...

  • OMG then why are all those people barking about how it's fake?!?! They must be drunk with jealousy! LOL!
